The first debate featuring all four party leaders in the upcoming provincial election was dominated by the Liberals and New Democrats.

Christy Clark and Adrian Dix faced off on several topics including managing BC's debt, balancing the budget, government transparency and the proposed sale of assets including BC Place.

Clark took several jabs at Dix, repeatedly accusing him of being secretive about his party's agenda and a comment which drew laughs from observers.

DIX: "I don't think by May 14th there'll be any napkins left in the Premier's office."

CLARK: "Mr. Dix, you're not sounding very positive."

Dix fought back saying, unlike the Liberals, he's refused to run negative ads and the NDP's platform is fully-funded.

The 90-minute debate, moderated by CKNW's Bill Good,  also featured Conservative leader John Cummins and Green Party leader Jane Sterk who didn't get as much air time, but they both managed to score points on topics including job creation and protecting the environment.
