New Westminster's Police Chief says he's proud of the officers who discovered one of their colleagues was unfit to serve.
"People who are dedicated in this job knew what they needed to do not to create evidence, but to confirm or deny what was happening."
Chief Dave Jones is referring to investigators who uncovered a constable, already convicted of assaulting a man in Vancouver, was associating with a known drug dealer and using cocaine.
"There is, you know, a tremendous amount of people in this profession who do know the difference between right and wrong."
The officer in question, Jeffrey Klassen agreed to quit last May, more than a year after he was spared jail time for taking part in the 2009 beating of newspaper delivery truck driver Firoz Khan.
