BC's watchdog of serious incidents involving police has found no evidence of wrongdoing in the death of a Prince George man.
Police had arrived at Greg Matters' rural home in early September to place him under arrest after he had gotten into a dispute with his brother.
After some difficulty trying to get the 40-year-old man out of the house, the emergency response team was called in and started to go up the driveway.
The I-I-O report says police discovered Matters had a hatchet, which he would not put down.
They attempted to stun him with a taser, but failing that, shot him twice in the chest.
The director of the Independent Investigations Office has now cleared mounties in the fatal shooting.
No charges are being recommended to crown.
