The true cause of death of a local celebrity chef has been confirmed as a drug overdose.
Anthony Sedlak’s body was discovered in his North Vancouver home on July 5th, 2012.
At the time of his death, a statement was released claiming the 29-year old had an 'undiagnosed medical condition'.
But within 24 hours, the BC Coroner's Service determined he'd committed suicide by ingesting excessive amounts of illegal drugs.
The cause of death was cocaine and oxycodone toxicity.
The award-winning chef was best known as the host of Food Network Canada's 'The Main', and as a judge on 'Family Cook Off'.
Sedlak said he started cooking at age 13, because he wanted to snowboard for free at Grouse Mountain.
