With record temperatures in the forecast this weekend, authorities are worried about young children falling off balconies, and out of open windows.
It tends to happen when the weather heats up.
BC Children’s Hospital says at least 10 children were sent to hospital after falling out of windows last year.
At least two kids have been injured already this spring.
The BC Ambulance Service says make sure latches are installed on windows, window screens do not offer proper protection. They can't withstand the weight of a child pushing on them and should not be relied on as a safety measure.
Move furniture and planters away from windows and balcony edges to discourage children from climbing, especially cribs and beds.
