Abbotsford Police say a teacher is facing several sex charges involving a young girl.
Constable Ian MacDonald says a young woman made the allegations of sexual misconduct against Tanner Cervo last fall.
"Mr. Cervo is a 36 year old man from Abbotsford. He holds several positions of authority. He has been suspended from those positions of authority while he now faces one count of sexual interference, one count of sexual assault, and two counts of sexual exploitation all in relation to the same complainant victim."
MacDonald says the alleged incidents happened more than a year ago. He is not ruling out other victims.
The Abbotsford School District in a statement says they take matter very seriously and say Tanner Cervo has not been teaching in the system since last school year.
