Anti-pipeline protesters greeted Liberal leader Christy Clark at a campaign event in Kitimat today.
They did not interrupt the event, but held up signs opposing the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline proposal.
Clark insists she is standing up for B.C.’s environment.
"I have stood up on the national stage. I have set out those five conditions. They apply to any movement of heavy oil through British Columbia, whether it's Kinder Morgan, whether it's the Northern Gateway, or whether it's heavy oil to supply David Black's proposed refinery. We are not changing those positions. They are firm and they're tough."
But one protester said it would be insane to allow the pipeline to proceed and risk the pristine north coast.
