Twice in the last two days Abbotsford police officers have had to smash windows to rescue toddlers stuck in cars.
Constable Ian MacDonald says in both cases the temperatures were so hot the kids could have been in danger.
MacDonald says both mothers ended up locking the keys inside the car with the children.
"We want to remind people that, especially here in the Valley with this warmer weather we have been seeing 30 degree temperatures, in addition to safeguarding and making sure that pets and children aren't left in vehicles. We want to make sure that parents and drivers have their keys with them before they make that consequential decision to shut the door."
MacDonald says due to the heat, officers in both situations decided smashing the window was their only option.
