More than 300 people showed up to cast a ballot in a vote mob organized by people in the gaming, movie, and TV industry in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood.
East Side Games founder Jason Bailey says it isn't about picking one party over another, but getting young people to vote.
"If you don't vote in the first two or three elections that you're eligible to vote in, odds are you will never vote in your life. And that's not cool. I know of the 30-odd people that we brought from our studio today, there's at least a dozen of them who have literally never voted before, you know?"
Bailey says the province has to recognize the creative sector adds more jobs and economic impact than forestry and mining.
Some of the young people who showed up were gaming students worried about finding jobs when they graduate.
