During her first official news conference after last night's victory for the BC Liberals, Premier Christy Clark says she feels the televised debate on April 29 was the turning point.
"It was, I think, a chance for British Columbians to compare and contrast all of the leaders and really hear from us directly in a completely unedited way about what we wanted to do with the province. I think that had an impact on the momentum that picked up in the campaign."
Clark says she's waiting for final confirmation that she lost her own riding of Vancouver-Point Grey before she decides how to get back into the Legislature.
She denies she's already asked an elected Liberal to give up his or her seat.
"I haven't asked anybody to do that, so I don't know who would be telling you that. We don't even have the results of the final vote yet, so we'll see what happens after that. Then there'll be a time for those kinds of discussions to happen, but I haven't initiated any of those."
