The Vancouver Persons with Disabilities Advisory Committee is hoping having a remarkable three MLA's in wheelchairs, who know first hand what issues people with disabilities face, will get their message across loud and clear in Victoria.
The Committee's Vice-Chair, Jill Weiss, says one of the problems people with disabilities have in achieving equality is that most people without disabilities aren't aware of what the issues are.
But now, she says, there are three people in Government who can be their voices when Provincial policy is being made. She says they will also be an inspiration for those following in their paths, It's really important for younger people with disabilities to know that they can do whatever anybody else can
Stephanie Cadieux was re-elected Tuesday while former Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan and Paralympic gold medalist Michelle Stilwell are heading to Victoria for the first time.
