Two former municipal rivals of Vision Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson are now BC Liberal MLAs in the city.
As he pushes for a solution to funding transit expansion, Robertson was asked how he feels if he has to lobby Sam Sullivan and Suzanne Anton for provincial money.
"Both Ms. Anton and Mr. Sullivan are strong advocates for public transit,” he says. “I work primarily with the premier. I know she understands the need as well having lived here in Vancouver for a number of years. So I think we will keep working on it.
“It is going to need that kind of push right around the whole Metro region and hopefully we will see some leadership on transit."
Sullivan preceded Robertson as mayor of Vancouver under Vision's main competitor, the Non-Partisan Association, while Robertson defeated the NPA's Anton in the 2011 civic election.
