A former Delta resident has finally been sentenced for sexually assaulting three children in the 1960s and 70s.

Jamieson Glendinning has been handed a prison sentence of more than three years but he gets six months credit for time already served.

The 63 year old was arrested in March 2010, but took off to Australia after getting bail.

He was re-arrested at Vancouver Airport last November, and in January pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault.

Glendinning's victims were between the ages of 7 and 16 at the time of the assaults, which he committed over a 10 year period, ending in 1979.

Glendinning was also involved with the Tsawwassen Amateur Baseball Association from 1985 to 1995.

As part of his sentence, he must provide a DNA sample and his name will be listed on the National Sex Offender Registry.
