The lone independent candidate to win a riding in last week's election says BC has a polarized electorate.
When Vicki Huntington won the Delta South riding, it was the first time an independent was re-elected.
But despite making history, Huntington says she is disappointed that other independents Bob Simpson and John Van Dongen did not win too.
She says the election results show BC is divided.
"Until a party comes along that captures the electorate's imagination with a leader that is able to build a stable brand that people feel that they can start to trust we are going to a continued polarization.
However, Huntington says as an independent she is focused on working with both sides of the house.
