A Vancouver MP says she's not surprised Prime Minister Stephen Harper's chief of staff has resigned after it was discovered he cut a 90 thousand dollar cheque to Senator Mike Duffy.
The cheque was intended to cover Duffy's disallowed housing expenses.
Here's Liberal Joyce Murray.
"What is surprising or concerning I think is how long the Prime Minister stood behind both Senator Duffy when clearly he's undermined the integrity of his role as a senator and then stood behind Nigel Wright."
Murray says there need to be mechanisms in place to ensure that what is delivered by the senate matches the original intent of it.
