An RCMP officer is facing drunk driving charges after he was arrested by West Vancouver police back in November.
Investigators say Sergeant Victor Joseph Cunha, 47, was off-duty at the time of the crash on the Trans Canada Highway.
Police say it appears the vehicle lost control, hit the median and landed in a ditch.
He's facing three charges, including dangerous driving.
His first court appearance is slated for June 26 in North Vancouver.
The RCMP have confirmed he's a member of the explosives disposal unit, but he's not 'currently operational.'
It hasn't been disclosed if that means he's on administrative duty or paid leave.
