Canada's highest court will not hear an appeal from a B-C born woman -- fighting to learn the identity of her sperm-donor father.
Olivia Pratten sought to take her case to the Supreme Court of Canada after BC's court of appeal tossed out an earlier decision that sided with her.
Pratten was born in nanaimo using sperm from an anonymous donor, and her parents knew the donor's identity would be shielded.
She spent a decade trying to learn her biological father's identity, but her parents' fertility specialist destroyed the records in keeping with rules.
The Appeal Court said she has no constitutional right to information about her biological father.
As usual, the Supreme Court gave no reasons for refusing to hear the appeal.
