A teen is recovering in a Burnaby hospital after being struck by a train on Friday night.
RCMP say it happened around Barnet Highway and Cariboo Road in North Burnaby, just east of the Barnet Marine Park.
Sergeant Dwayne Beckerleg says a lot of teens were in the area because it is a popular spot for parties.
"One of the youths at the scene said the youth had placed something on the track and believed he could get out of the way in time and couldn't. In fact he didn't get out of the way in time, he got hit."
Beckerleg says the boy sustained a cut to the head, but was conscious and talking before being taken to hospital.
