In a rare move, the Law Society of BC has ordered a lawyer to be disbarred.
Three years ago Malcolm Zoraik was convicted of public mischief and fabricating evidence.
He was found to have created a letter which falsely alleged jury tampering.
An appeal was dismissed a year ago.
Then the law society then carried out its own investigation.
Deborah Armour is the society's chief legal officer.
"It's a criminal offense that really strikes at the heart of the administration of justice of course the law society our mandate is to protect the public interest in the adminstration of justice," says Armour.
Zoraik was called to the bar in 2001.
