Coquitlam RCMP have foiled an effort by a crook who tried to go green on his getaway, via a local bus.
Corporal Jamie Chung says it happened around four this afternoon, with police stopping the bus.
"We believe the suspect got onto a bus. the bus was travelling Eastbound on the Mary Hill bypass at which point were able to catch up to the bus. We boarded the bus and made sure everybody was safe and we found our suspect and now one person is in custody."
Chung says charges are pending, but had little other information about the suspect.
He says they also have to figure out if the thief made off with any money or not.
