BC Ferries says a SUV went through a barrier at the Mayne Island Ferry Teriminal ending up upside down on the rocks beside the dock.
Spokesperson Deborah Marshall says there was an elderly woman inside the vehicle.
"There was a Doctor in the line up who attended and indicated injuries to the woman, the sole occupant, are non-life threatening. There was an Air Ambulance that did attend and did airlift this woman to hospital at about 6:30 pm. Currently now we are meaning to assess the damage to the railing of the dock."
Marshall says until further notice the Mayne Island Terminal will operate on one berth for ferries.
She says police have launched an investigation to determine how the accident happened.
