The City of Vancouver is looking to give the tourism industry a boost.
Mayor Gregor Robertson and officials from Tourism Vancouver have presented an overview of the city's first tourism master plan to hundreds in the industry.
The plan is meant to pick out opportunities and set priorities.
Eight recommendations from the plan include setting up an events organization to facilitate the delivery of cultural and sports events year-round.
Incorporating the needs of visitors into transportation, especially when it comes to late night transportation and walking, is another recommendation.
The final plan will be made public in July.
