A family already in mourning suffers another tragedy in Vancouver yesterday.
The day started for the Dhesi family with horrible news.
80-year-old Naranjan Dhesi was killed in a freak bus accident.
The grandmother was trying to board a charter bus for Harrison Hot Springs - a trip organized by her Sikh temple.
But police say the bus started to roll back and she fell off of it, and was pinned between the bus and the ground.
Dhesi died on her way to the hospital.
The second tragedy came later in the afternoon as her family was gathered at their home, trying to wrap their heads around her sudden death.
A deadly fire erupted in the basement.
Fire officials say a body was discovered once the flames were doused.
Officials say the victim was not related to the Dhesi family upstairs.
The home suffered extensive damage and the cause is under investigation.
