A B.C. Supreme Court judge has ruled that a Surrey man who murdered his wife will be eligible for parole after 16 years.
Manmeet Singh pleaded guilty last month in 24-year-old Ravinder Bhangu's death.
She was found stabbed multiple times at a Punjabi newspaper office in a strip mall in 2011.
Singh had originally been charged with first-degree murder, but admitted to second-degree right as his trial was set to start in New Westminster.
He has automatically been handed a life sentence.
Both Crown and defence lawyers asked for parole eligibility to be set at 16 years.
