The young Abbotsford man gunned down and killed late Sunday afternoon was an associate of one of the accused killers of gangster Jonathan Bacon.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has confirmed 25-year-old Harpreet Singh Chahal was well-known to them and his murder is gang-related.
When Chahal was only 20, he was convicted along with accused Bacon shooter Juj-Har Singh Khun-Khun of kidnapping and robbing a truck driver claiming to be police officers.
Chahal also has a long rap sheet going back to July of 2011 of drug trafficking charges.
Khun-khun was charged along with two others in connection with the August 20-11 murder of bacon outside a Kelowna casino.
