The NDP's education critic is warning the Province's ten year deal mandate for teachers may put education stability, "into the ditch."
Rob Fleming says a long term deal needs funding, funding curiously absent from a re-tabled Provincial Budget, "The Premier has really handed the new Minister of Education a very difficult political slogan that does not translate into an easy agreement to achieve, especially in light of todays budget that puts none of the resources into K to 12 education that are needed for parents and kids and for our school system to operate successfully."
Fleming says Education Minister Peter Fassbender may have to stand up to the Premier over what he calls, an "unobtainable" deal.
Bargaining over a teachers contract continues with the Province's newly appointed lead negotiator Peter Cameron.
