A 15 year old boy is suffering from second and third degree burns after a model rocket he was building caught fire.
The teenager was with a friend when the rocket ignited, burning his face, arms, and hands.
Chilliwack firefighters were called to the scene on Nevin Road after reports of a structure fire.
When they arrived, they found the boy, alongside a relatively minor fire with lots of smoke in the detached one storey workshop.
The boy was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital.
His friend was not hurt.
