Burnaby RCMP are continuing their investigation into the hit and run that took an elderly man's life Sunday night.
Staff Sergeant Rob Marks says the man was 72 years old, his ID shows he is from Surrey -- but they are still working on identifying next of kin.
They are also continuing to look for the person who hit him.
"Anybody that was involved in this incident or may have information in this incident to come forward and contact the RCMP in Burnaby or any RCMP station so that we can get your side - or their side of the story."
The crash happened at 13th Avenue and Wright Street around 9:30pm.
An eye witness to the crash told police the driver responsible for the fatal hit and run, is a young woman.
Yvette Smart lives by the crash scene.
"I heard the noise like someone was saying 'Hey, hey, hey' like that and I didn't think anything of it then I heard a big crash. And then I looked out my window and I saw the girl. She was kinda looking over into the other window to see what happened so she saw what she did and then she went around the corner and took off."
Smart says she hopes the young woman does the right thing and steps forward to help ease the pain for the family of the dead cyclist.
