Vancouver police still have more questions than answers after a man shot at two people at Main and 26th Avenue, before turning the gun on himself last night.
Const. Brian Montague says the suspected gunman, a 34-year-old local man, has now died in hospital.
As for motive, Montague says the investigation is its early stages, but it looks like a random act of violence.
"The reason this individual went and decided to shoot at the two people and then turn the gun on himself is really not known.
“The two people that he shot at, there is no known connection between them and the shooter. Two people that he shot at have absolutely no contact with the police, no criminal record. For the most part, (they were) in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Montague couldn't say if the shooter was the legal owner of the handgun used in the incident.
