The BC Wildfire Management Branch is lending a hand - 100 pairs in fact - to help the province of Quebec deal with forest fires.
Spokesman Kevin Skrepnek says BC is sending five 20-person crews out east to help douse wildfires in la belle province.
"Requests of this nature come through the Canadian interagency forest fire centre. From there, that's the apparatus that other agencies request our help through and of course if British Columbia is in need, the same process -- our request goes through them."
Skrepnek says Quebec will foot the bill and the crews are only allowed to work out of province for two weeks.
They can be recalled sooner if needed here.
