An orphaned Killer whale found orphaned and emaciated near Seattle in 2002 has fully recovered and become a mother.
"Springer" made national headlines when she was found sick and malnourished in the Puget Sound.
Since Springer has not only recovered and been released but has also returned to her pod.
Today Fisheries and Oceans Canada says Springer has given birth to a calf.
The scientists say it is the first time ever an orca has been captured, rehabilitated, released, and re-introduced back into a family pod.
