It's too late for this summer, but Suzanne Anton says the provincial government is looking at loosening up rules banning the consumption of alcohol at beaches and parks.
"I don't want to pre-judge what the results of this consultation should be. Many people say, 'Oh, I wish I could have a bottle of wine at the beach.' People say that to me all the time, but at the same time, other people will say, 'Imagine all the terrible parties and the noise and the disruption."

"Some people would like to have a bottle of wine at the beach. Others dread the thought of the noisy parties that might result."
Anton says a study is now underway to determine if the province's strict rules can be loosened up.
