BC is sending 29 firefighters north to the Yukon to help fight forest fires.
Fire Information Officer Navi Saini says the Northwest Fire Centre, the Cariboo Fire Centre and the Prince George Fire Centre are all contributing personnel.
"This request for assistance was made through the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre. This agency co-ordinates the mutual sharing of firefighting resources between BC and other jurisdictions."
The firefighters will stay in the Yukon for a maximum of 19 days, but can be recalled if needed here in BC.
