B.C.’s Criminal Justice Branch has decided not to lay charges against police officers after a woman was injured during an arrest in Port Alberni.
The Independent Investigations Office had submitted a report about the incident, suggesting a Mountie may have been in the wrong when the woman's knee was broken in mid-February.
But the branch now says there is not enough evidence to prove the officer used excessive force.
The woman still faces charges of assaulting a peace officer and obstruction.
