A young mother and her four children had to be rescued after getting lost on North Vancouver's Grouse Mountain.
Search co-ordinator Tim Jones says the call came in shortly before 2pm Thursday, but it took some time to connect with the family because they wouldn't stay still, there was a language barrier and they received really bad advice from another hiker.
"Not to call Search and Rescue, that they would be charged. This caused a lot of almost panic with this young woman because she comes from a country that is a police state. They're automatically on guard, so it didn't help us."
A helicopter eventually picked up the mom and her kids who are between seven and 13 years old.
Other than needing water, everyone is fine.
