The brief summer session of the provincial legislature has come to an end.
The Liberals had one order of business during this session: passing their self-described balanced budget.
With that out of the way, House Leader Mike de Jong says no decision has been made on whether to recall the legislature in the fall.
"There are reasons to gather, and reasons not to."
NDP House Leader John Horgan says the Liberals' own legislative calendar calls for a fall session.
"I'm planning my life around the civilized fixed calendar that the Liberals like to crow about, until they break it so my plan is to be here on Oct. 8 ready to do my work."
If there's no fall sitting the politicians won't be back in the house until next February.
Opposition Leader Adrian Dix says he'll take some time to mull over his future this summer, with some party activists calling for him to step down before November’s party convention.
Dix was asked if he will consider resigning: "My reflections are always broad, and so I don't exclude questions at the beginning of reflection. I like to reflect broadly and really the main consideration for me is the public interest, the interest of the NDP, the interest of alternates in the province."
Dix points to the work of a five-person panel established by the NDP to review May’s election loss. It's due to report before the convention.
