Those evacuated from their homes as a result of the jet fuel spill in the Central Kootenay region can return home.
This according to the Central Kootenay Regional District, which also says Highway 6 is now open.
The evacuation order was lifted after the analysis of numerous air, water and soil samples by agencies working together to figure out the impacts of the Lemon Creek fuel spill.
The district says the 600 people who have been out of their homes since yesterday can return.
However, the water is still not available for use for at least 24 hours for drinking or irrigation.
