Over 250,000 people came out to watch the Celebration of Light in downtown Vancouver last night.
The United Kingdom put on a James Bond themed fireworks show.
David Lightfoot, visiting from Washington, thought the 30 minute show was fantastic.
"I thought most of it was absolutely brilliant the synchronization was outstanding and the creativity was just wonderful. Great Britain did a very good job for Great Britain."
And many people will be back again on Wednesday, as Canada will be displaying their fireworks show.
Meanwhile the Vancouver Police were out in full force to make sure the evening was a success.
Constable Brian Montague says they had a few people who were intoxicated, but other than that, the crowd was well behaved.
He says one issue they are watching for is people who stop to watch the fireworks show on bridges.
"We have cars that stop mid-span on the bridge to watch the fireworks and it's not a smart thing to do. Not only can it run you a ticket, it's not a smart thing to do."
Montague says his best tip for people coming to Wednesday's show is to give themselves plenty of time to get here and don't expect a parking spot next to the beach.
