An evacuation alert is in effect as fire crews battle an aggressive wildfire 5 kilometers southwest of Okanagan Falls.
12 homes, located near the 50 hectare blaze, are under the alert.
Fire officials say the flames are fast moving, and are burning grass and open timber in the area and gusting winds are making it difficult to contain the blaze.
While there are structures in the area officials say the fire poses no threat at this time.
Over 30 firefighters, alonside air tankers and helicopters are on scene.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
