Port Coquitlam is set to host its first Snowflake Walk to end bullying on Sunday.

Snowflake was the nickname Carol Todd gave to her 15-year-old daughter, Amanda, who committed suicide Oct. 10 after she had been bullied.

Todd says she will walk with residents from Port Coquitlam and the Lower Mainland.

"It’s a great awareness thing. And that's what we want to do, is we want to start the campaign to encourage people to start thinking about putting an end to bullying."

The walk is part of the city’s Be Someone campaign, which launched last month to tackle the issue and includes an anti-bullying bylaw.

Registration opens at 11 a.m., with the walk kicking off at 1 p.m. at the Port Coquitlam Recreation Complex.
