Glare ice could be a big problem on the morning commute in Metro Vancouver.
Police have warned drivers to be very careful on these icy roads.
CKNW's Mark Madryga says temperatures started falling early this morning.
"Well last evening we had a few showers come into Metro Vancouver and then quickly we had a break between bands of showers. By the way, we'll get many more showers later today. But the clearing, although brief in the past couple of hours, has allowed temperatures to dip close to freezing, several temperatures are a little above freezing and a few are right at the freezing point. As a result, black ice has formed and it is very, very treacherous almost all the way through my route from White Rock into Burnaby and I know other areas are very slippery as well. We're going to see the clouds come back into Metro Vancouver from the southwest and that may just modify things a little. In other words, the temperature go up a degree or two. But boy oh boy, what is slippery out there right now will stay slippery for 2 or 3 more hours at least until the showers come back later this morning. So I would say unless they get out there with those trucks the morning commute is going to be very, very tricky".
