North Shore Search and Rescue ground teams have recovered around ten thousand dollars worth of equipment left on Cypress during rescue efforts Tuesday.
Team Leader Tim Jones says crews had to rappel down Saturday morning to reach the canyon where snowboarder Sebastien Boucher was trapped.
"They're doing it all safely, but it is a rope-rescue, full repel situation done with all our safety parameters. And that's just to get the first part of the gear."
Jones says around twenty thousand dollars worth of gear, including a helicopter flight rescue kit, is still stuck further up the mountain.
He says if it can't be reached safely, crews will be forced to write it off.
