A holiday surprise for the Tumanda family, a few weeks after the tragic hit and run death of 42 year old, mother-of-two, Leonida.
Leonida's husband, Nilo Tumanda had tears in his eyes as he stepped into the home, donated by Intergulf Development Group.
"Thank you so much for the generousity. Thank you."
The home on Cambie Street is one of several slated to be torn down for a future development.
Nilo and his two daughters will live in the home for free over the next 6 to 8 months, with costs taken care of by Intergulf.
The company has said it will continue to help once the Tumandas move out of the home.
The hit and run investigation is ongoing and the driver has not yet come forward.
Leonida was hit by a vehicle at East 43rd Avenue and Prince Edward Street around 11pm on December 2nd.
She passed away in hospital.
