A plea from a mother who lost a child to a drunk driver: If you drink this New Year's Eve, don't get behind the wheel.
Markita Kaulius, mother of 22-year-old Kassandra Kaulius, who died in Surrey last year when drunk driver Natasha Warren plowed into her car, says New Year’s Eve revellers have options.
"So please make the choice to call a cab or call Operation Red Nose,” she says.
There is also transit, which is free after 5 p.m.
"We'll have some additional trips on some of our buses. Some services will run a little bit later. We'd advise people to check out the trip planner at translink.ca,” says Translink spokesman Drew Snider.
The last Expo line Skytrain leaves downtown Vancouver at 2:15 a.m.
