A Surrey man has been arrested and is facing charges after almost 500 Skytrain seats were slashed.
Transit police spokesperson Anne Drennan says between August and November 480 Skytrain seats were slashed.
Drennan says damages cost over 45-thousand dollars.
"This investigation required our members to review hundreds, literally hundreds and hundreds of hours, of video tape. We have arrested and charged a 63-year old Surrey man by the name of Terald Nicholas Gorecki. Gorecki was employed as a contract maintenance worker for skytrain which provided him with ready access."
Drennan says they don't know what the motive might be.
Gorecki has been ordered to stay away from Translink property.
