Thanks to another Stanley Cup rioter's guilty plea, taxpayers are no longer on the hook for her trial.

In exchange for her guilty plea, prosecutors will drop a second charge of break and enter against former beauty queen Sophie Laboissoniere.

Her lawyer, David Baker, says she doesn't have to be in provincial court until she's sentenced in May.

"She's received a level of notoriety that goes way beyond the offence she committed. She's stuck with that and she'll be very pleased when this matter is concluded. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT IF THIS HAS AFFECTED HER ABILITY TO GET A JOB? WHAT KIND OF IMPACT HAS IT HAD ON HER? She hasn't tried to get a job, I don't think, since she's been charged, but I can tell you that it will have a lifelong effect."

The Richmond woman's trial was slated to last eight days.

She was one of the first rioters charged.
