The Vancouver Police Department is officially responding to Wally Oppal's Missing Women Inquiry Report in the form of an Administrative Report set to be presented this week to the Vancouver Police Board.

In the report, the VPD says it will attempt to implement Oppal's recommendations relevant to its department.

Among the recommendations it supports are the formation of a Greater Vancouver Police Force, the development of a regional real-time crime centre, and further efforts to train officers to interact with those in vulnerable communities appropriately.

One recommendation the VPD wasn't so keen on was a call for the creation of a replacement to the now defunct Vancouver Police Native Liaison Society.

They say the Aboriginal Community Police Centre already fills that gap.
