The NDP's Finance critic says the return to the PST is mysteriously absent in a series of high profile government ads.
Bruce Ralston says the Liberal government has not done enough to prepare for the PST's return.
"Absolutely especially when they have got 14 million dollars of public money for political ads. They should be talking about this, this is vital for running the province it is a vital source of government revenue."
Ralston says part of the blame goes to cancelling the Fall sitting of the legislature.
"Part of the problem here has been that Finance Minister Falcon stressed that a lot of the publicity and the legislative action had to take place in the fall. There wasn't a fall session. A lot of this got pushed forward to the spring. There has been some publicity but I don't think the government has done enough to make people aware and encourage people to register."
Ralston says his hopes are vanishing for a smooth transition when the HST vanishes as of midnight on Sunday.
"The HST and the return to the PST are a political embarassment to them and I think that is part of the reason why there hasn't been much publicity they don't want to talk about it."
Ralston expects pressure from customers next week will force most businesses to make a speedy transition when the PST returns on Monday.
