The NDP will be targeting BC's troubled Film and TV industry when they roll out the first plank in the party's election platform tomorrow.
The invite to those in the Film and TV industry is titled 'The NDP's platform announcement for the motion picture industry.'
Save BC Film's Wayne Bennett "Well I do have an invitation to it tomorrow. I know it is at 9:30 tomorrow morning at Vancouver Film Studios."
Bennett adds "We are hoping that obviously that its going to be at a film studio that it is going to be somewhat in support of sustaining and growing the industry, the film and TV industry in the province." Bennett says he wants to hear the NDP table a plan with solutions.
"Both on the tax credit side maybe on the PST side. On maybe moving some of the current credits around to be a little bit more affective to a larger base."
Bennett says his hope, and everyone in the industry, is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
"We have hopes and hopefully something good will come of it that we can sell to our clients South of the border and around the world that means we are going to be open for business."
The Liberal government has ruled out matching tax credits with other provinces, saying it is financially unsustainable.
