150 slots that were put into the Newton Square Bingo Hall in Surrey on a temporary basis, will remain there.
City Councillor Barinder Rasode says Gateway Casinos and Entertainment is set to begin redeveloping the site at King George Boulevard and Hall Road almost immediately.
The gaming license at the hall was set to be brought to a proposed casino and entertainment complex in South Surrey but that proposal was voted down by council earlier this year, "Since the South Surrey Entertainment Complex didn't get Council approval, the slots, as indicated in the report that was passed by council, do remain in Newton."
Rasode says she thinks people in the community will be disappointed the slots are staying.
